Resident Organisations / Partners

The resident groups and organisations in the GoDown space operate in various areas of performance and visual arts, ranging from dance and acrobatics to visual arts, to music, web-design and television production. Currently there are several arts organizations based at the GoDown.

However the Centre is also open and accessible to non-resident users and artists. The Groups based at the GoDown include:

Medeva TV: Film and Video creative and technical training, procduction of television programming
Nairobits Trust: web design and electronic art opportunities for disadvantaged youth.
Kuruka Maisha Trust: offers training for streetboys in acrobatics and dance.
Various Contemporary dance companies including Gaara Dance Co, Uwezo Mix Dance, Kunja Dance Theatre, Joka Jok. They partner with the Godown in the development of contemporary African choreography and dance.
Ketebul Music Studios: music recording studios for both local and regional musicians.
The Kenya Conservatoire of Music: training in classical instruments - piano, guitar, violin, etc - as well as voice.

Hassan Fadul Abbakar, Martin Mwaura, Patrick Mukabi, Caroline Mbirua, Charles Ngatia, Mary Ogembo, Dickens Otieno, Esther Mukuhi, Tom Mboya, Patrick Kariuki and African Comics.
